Levolor - does it only work when the circulating pump isn't on?

It can be wired any way the builder wants, see installation instructions for each model.

How is the Levolor mounted?

The sensor is located anywhere you can get an accurate water level measurement; The Levolor controller box is mounted at the equipment. The kit includes 50 ft. of wire. The wire must be continuous from sensor to controller with no splices. This wire and sensor should not be submerged under water at any time. There are two suggested methods - static pipe or in the skimmer basket.

Will code require and anti-siphen valve?

Yes.

How do you attach the sensor to the side of the skimmer?

Plumber's putty or silicone.

How do you run wire from the sensor to the equipment area?

SDI supplies 50 feet of wire embedded into the sensor. SDI suggests the customer put the wire inside 1/2 inch conduit pipe to the equipment pad. With new installation SDI supplies wire up to 200 ft. long. This wire must be continuous from the sensor to the controller. This wire cannot be spliced except at the controller, it must be continuous from the sensor tips to the control center. The Sensor wire should not be placed in any pipe which is supposed to hold water (i.e., input or return line).

Are the wire and sensor available in white?

No.

Do some codes require copper plumbing for the solenoid valve?

No.

Is there a particular solenoid valve you recommend that is reliable?

Consult a specialist at your local hardware store or plumbing retailer.

What maintenance is required?

R & R solenoid actuator every five years.

What product improvements have you made since the inception?

Indicator lights; potted sensor; changed timing from 1 minute to 15 seconds; changed resistor values to measure softer water; went from 1 probe to 2; changed brass sensors to stainless steel...

How does the sensor mount for Negative Edge decorative water features?

See installation instructions for Levolor K-1100 and L/X2.

Does it include a solenoid valve (this would make it a complete package)?

No, however, solenoid valves can be found at a nearby hardware store or plumbing retailer.

Can the Levolor be sold as a switchable 110/220VAC in the same controller (like pool motors)?

Some of the models are switchable, some are not.

Will Levolor help sell more decorative water features?

Yes. Levolor automatically cares for what is otherwise an annoying part of routine maintenance. It's an important piece of the "care-free" environment consumers want.

Why do I need an automatic water level controller?

Automating this part of routine care allows owners to reduce their maintenance time and enjoy their decorative water features more.

How hard is it to install?

Levolor can be easily installed on ant new or existing decorative water feature. No modifications are needed to the pond surface or structure, and a licensed electrician and plumber can install it in about an hour.

Does Levolor meet NEC codes?

Yes, Levolor is ETL listed. Over 5,500 have been installed on cooling towers, pools, spas and water features across the United States within the last few years without any problems with local codes.

What's the advantage of an electronic controller over a toilet bowl float valve?

Levolor has no moving parts to malfunction. It also electronically compensates for waves, so that pools will not overfill. In addition, installation is easier because no extra holes need to be cut or dug in or around the deck (as a float bowl would require) or inside the decorative water feature.

What is the warranty on Levolor?

Levolor is fully warranted by SDI.

How reliable is Levolor?

Very Reliable. Levolor's solid state electronic controls are worry free and require no regular maintenance.

If refilling is automatic, how can I tell if there is a leak?

Consumers can tell if there is a leak by checking their monthly water bill.
