Koi Pond Construction

We started out as a Koi importation business. Occasionally, we would get a customer that would ask us how we kept our water so clear in our tanks.  We would point out that it was our filter systems, which keep the water clear, but more importantly, they keep the water clean and toxin free.  We had a background in construction, so we took that knowledge and applied it to building Koi ponds.  Before long, we were building ponds for people all over the Midwest.

Check out this video article that the Star Tribune did on a garden with one of our ponds in it: http://www.startribune.com/video/26128254.html?elr=KArks5PhDcU9PhDcUiD3a.

How Our Ponds Differ From Rock Bottom Ponds

Most pond builders dig a hole, lay down a rubber liner, cover it with rock and then call it a day.  These ponds typically last a single season before they get overloaded with fish waste and debris. These are not the kind of ponds that we build.

Having the right filtration equipment makes all the difference.  Poorly designed and cheap filter systems can make any pond a nightmare to maintain on a regular basis.

The ponds we build incorporate:

  • Surface skimmers
  • Bottom drains with built-in air diffusers
  • Mid-water returns
  • Complete filtration systems

These components work together to remove any waste from the pond automatically, minimizing weekly maintenance.
